Oldham Ring 1 kW Lubricated Scroll Expander
The compact E11H018A-BLDC-L-SH-OLD scroll expander has an integrated generator and cooling jacket, improved performance, and is optimized for waste heat recovery applications.
In pursuit of comprehensive residential and commercial waste heat recovery, Air Squared has developed a semi-hermetic, Oldham ring, scroll expander with an integrated BLDC generator and cooling jacket. Designed as the scroll expander engine of the Plug-and-Play Micro-ORC, the E11H018A-BLDC-L-SH-OLD was developed through the ARPA-E GENSETS program. Fully integrated into a waste heat recovery system, the E11H018A-BLDC-L-SH-OLD scroll expander can produce over 1 kWe of electricity.
The E11H018A-BLDC-L-SH-OLD exhibits improved life and efficiency over previous generations and is capable of 10,000 hours of operation before maintenance. Several design features to minimize the overall footprint have been incorporated, including integrating the expander, generator, and cooling jacket into a single compact housing.
Air Squared will continue testing of the E11H018A-BLDC-L-SH-OLD 1 kW scroll expander and Plug-and-Play Micro-ORC through Q2 2019.
