Continuous Duty Scroll Compressor for Air Suspension
The P09H015B-BLDC-LC is a first-of-its-kind, liquid-cooled, oil-free scroll compressor, engineered specifically for continuous duty operation in on-vehicle pneumatic systems.
A shift toward electrification and autonomy is reshaping the future of onboard pneumatics. Functions such as advanced driver-assistance, autonomous driving, and active air suspension introduce new requirements that exceed the capabilities of traditional air systems. Central to these evolving requirements is the need for a compact, quiet, oil-free compressor capable of operating across a wide range of performance levels, duty cycles, and environmental conditions.
Air Squared engineered the P09H015B-BLDC-LC specifically for next-generation on-vehicle pneumatics. The design borrows proven features from its innovative eCompressor platform that has become an industry standard in commercial electric vehicles – proprietary liquid cooling, integrated BLDC drive and electronics, and oil-free scroll technology. These innovative features enable 100% continuous operation, even at high discharge pressures, allowing compressor requirements for air suspension, sensor cleaning, and other auxiliary systems to be supported by a single solution.
- Capable of discharge pressures over 22 barg and flow rates over 37 lpm, liquid cooling allows the compressor to maintain volumetric efficiency above 95% and consistent performance, even during long periods of continuous duty operation. Rated to IP6K9K / IP67 and designed for ambient temperatures between –40 °C to over 55 °C, integrated liquid cooling also allows the compressor to accommodate harsh automotive environments.
- The compact design integrates the BLDC motor and controller, cooling passages, and filtration into a single lightweight assembly weighing just 2.2 kg, enabling packaging flexibility in space-constrained vehicle platforms.
- Oil-free scroll architecture provides best-in-class acoustic performance – substantially quieter than piston compressors – with no oil management or routine maintenance required.
