Two-Stage Scroll Air Expander

The E36T67N5.0 scroll air expander features a two-stage scroll configuration for up to 50kW output power.

Designed for Energetix, the E36T67N5.0 uses a two-stage scroll configuration to provide up to 50kW output power. The unit is rated for a maximum inlet pressure of 14 bara and operates at 1,800 RPM. Prototypes will be used to expand air in an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) application.

A UPS provides emergency power when the primary power source fails. While a typical UPS stores energy using batteries, the novel UPS relies on compressed air, using the E36T67N5.0 to generate power by expanding air from a high-pressure source – such as storage tanks.
