Orbital Series scroll compressors from Air Squared is used in a range of polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) fuel cell applications, delivering an efficient positive displacement solution for cathode air supply.

In 1999, Air Squared demonstrated the first scroll compressor designed specifically for fuel cell. Twenty years later, our scroll compressors have been commercialized in class-1 through class-3 forklifts for material handling, hydrogen-powered city bus fleets, and other mobile applications ranging in output power from 3 kW up to 40 kW. Orbital Series scroll compressors provide fuel cell OEMs a field-tested, durable, efficient compressor solution that’s capable of high-pressure ratios than centrifugal compressors.
